Olympic Gold Medallist, Tessa Sanderson CBE was among the record crowd at Queens Park Rangers’ Loftus Road stadium to watch the Mountpark Charity Football Match. An annual fixture between teams from Mountpark and the Industrial Agents’ Society, the match ended in a 3-1 win to Mountpark and raised the incredible sum of £112,000 for: Variety, The Children’s Charity; Combat Stress: The Veterans’ Mental Health Charity and Young Lives vs Cancer.

Following the match Mountpark and Tessa presented a Sunshine Coach to Briarwood, a school in Bristol for children and young people aged 3-19 years with Severe and Profound Learning Difficulties, Complex Needs, Autism and Sensory Impairment. One of more than 50 Sunshine Coaches that Mountpark has helped to fund for schools across the UK, this new minibus will help Briarwood’s pupils experience life and develop skills beyond the classroom.

Combat Stress is the UK’s leading charity for former servicemen and women, providing specialist treatment and support for veterans from every service and conflict, particularly those with complex mental health issues related to their military service.

Young Lives vs Cancer offers patients and their families individual support to cope with a cancer diagnosis. This can include financial help, family accommodation during treatment, working with schools on a child’s or young person’s behalf and helping them keep in touch with their friends.

Philip O’Callaghan, Managing Director Mountpark UK & Ireland, thanked the event’s sponsors, Queen’s Park Rangers Football Club, the teams, match officials and everyone who had worked hard to make the evening such a success.

“It is great to welcome so many of you to our annual football match and thank you very much for helping us raise £112,000 for these wonderful charities,” he said. “It has been a fantastic event and we look forward to seeing you all again at the same time next year.”
