Mountpark Logistics is delighted to announce that it has concluded an agreement, with leading pharmaceutical distributor, United Drug, to lease Unit A of the Mountpark Baldonnell Development.
The long term lease will see United Drug locate their main warehouse facility in Mountpark Baldonnell Logistics Park. The completion of this deal means that Mountpark Baldonnell is now fully leased. Mountpark Baldonnell is a €40m purpose-built logistics development comprising 322,000 sq feet located in two units.
United Drug is Ireland’s largest pharmaceutical distribution company and is part of McKesson Europe, a leading company in the healthcare sector, with strong brands across 13 European countries. Originally founded as a family business in Ballina, United Drug has been a force for innovation in Ireland’s pharmaceutical industry. United Drug works with more than 1,800 pharmacies, hospitals, clinics and primary care centres across the country, and employs more than 650 staff across its operations in Dublin, Limerick and Mayo.
The new United Drug site is located at Barneys Lane on the N7 Naas Road – Ireland’s premier logistics corridor, between Casement Aerodrome and Baldonnell Business Park, conveniently located for access to the M50, Outer Ring Road, N81 and N4. The location is just 6km from the M50.
The new United Drug unit is a 118,882 sq ft purpose-built logistics and warehousing building. It was completed on schedule, in under nine months, by contractors MAC. United Drug worked with Mountpark from an early stage to ensure that the project would meet their specific needs. Work has already begun on the final fit out of the Unit, with United Drug likely to begin operations in Baldonnell in mid-2019.

“We are delighted to announce that United Drug will be the tenant for Unit A in Mountpark Baldonnell. Since launching in 2018 we have seen huge interest in this, our first Irish project. There is a clear need for projects which are specifically designed to meet the requirements of handling and logistics companies operating in the age of e-commerce. We have worked with United Drug over many months and are proud to have delivered a building which will meet their requirements both today and for many years to come.
“The two units at Baldonnell are leased to major Irish employers, leaders in their respective markets. Unit A is now being fitted out and Unit B steel frame construction is well advanced and currently ahead of schedule. We are now looking to build on the success of Mountpark Baldonnell and are actively looking for other projects in South Dublin.
To date, over 740 people have been employed in building the state-of-the-art development. The development has been subject to €2.3m in development contribution charges to South Dublin County Council.
Unit B, Mountpark Baldonnell, with a gross external floor area of 203,500 sq. ft., commenced construction at the start of November and is already working ahead of schedule. It is expected that it will be completed before mid-August 2019. Home Store + More have already been confirmed as tenants for Unit B.
The Mountpark Baldonnell development was marketed by CBRE and Knight Frank.
