Mountpark wins Costar award for acquisition of Bristol site.

11th April 2019

Mountpark Logistics has won the South West Investment Deal of the Year in the CoStar Editor’s Choice Awards 2019 for the acquisition of 58.8 acres of the former Avlon Works from Astra Zeneca UK Ltd. The site, which is in Avonmouth Severnside, is now known as Mountpark Bristol XL.

The site has full planning permission for 1,288,000 sq ft of distribution space in up to four units ranging from 150,000 sq ft to 1 million sq ft.  Each new building has been designed to achieve BREEAM ‘very good’ certification as well as an EPC A rating.  Infrastructure work is underway and construction of units can start this year.

Close to the new M49 junction, which is due to complete by the end of 2019, the site is also within easy reach of the M4, M5 and M48 motorways.  Intermodal facilities are offered by the docks at Avonmouth and Royal Portbury, together with the nearby rail freight terminal.

“Bristol XL is regenerating a significant part of the former Avlon Works site to create a prime logistics park, which offers both high quality accommodation and excellent connectivity across the UK,” said David Carvey, UK Development Director, Mountpark. “We were delighted to have secured the site and we are very proud to have won this award.”
