Mountpark lets first building at Southampton Phase Two to PFSweb.
18th October 2018Mountpark Logistics, a leading developer of industrial and logistics property, announced today that it has leased 107,392 sq ft at Mountpark Southampton to PFSweb for a new fulfilment distribution centre.
The logistics centre is one of four units, totalling 346,620 sq ft, which Mountpark is building speculatively as the second phase of its Southampton development. The letting to PFSweb is the first deal at phase two and the building is on schedule to complete later this month.
PFSweb provides ecommerce and multichannel outsourcing solutions for global consumer brands, online retailers and branded manufacturers. With its headquarters in the US, the company is expanding its European operations and the new Southampton facility will be its initial logistics centre in the UK.
“Mountpark Southampton is an ideal location for PFSWeb as we expand our UK business,” said Zach Thomann, Senior Vice President & PFS General Manager. “With the strong ecommerce market in the UK, it is important for PFSweb to supplement its existing UK presence with a localized distribution strategy.”
Mountpark Southampton is within easy reach of Southampton Airport, Airport Parkway Station, Southampton Docks and the M27 Motorway. The park provides a total of 562,074 sq ft and the first phase is fully let.
“This is the fourth speculative building we have let before practical completion at Mountpark Southampton and the site is proving to be an ideal logistics location,” said Tom Kilmister, Development Director, Mountpark UK and Ireland. “We are delighted that this new building suits PFSweb’s requirements and we look forward to welcoming them as the first occupiers on phase two of the development.”
DTRE and GVA acted for Mountpark and PFSweb was represented by JLL.
