Mountpark Donates Variety Sunshine Coach To Lancaster School.

30th May 2018

A designated Community Special School in Westcliff-on-Sea in Essex, Lancaster School aims to help every student become a valued member of their local community.  To do this, it needs a coach that will allow students to spend part of their school day out and about, developing their educational, vocational and social skills as well as having fun in the fresh air with their friends.

“The Variety Sunshine Coach is simply a life-saver for us,” said Melanie Hall, Headteacher at Lancaster School.  “We could not have afforded to replace our worn out bus without the help of Mountpark – we just do not have the money.

“The future is bright again for our students.  Instead of wasting money keeping a very old and scruffy bus on the road, we can now channel the money into extending visits and activities in the community for all our students.”

Making the official presentation, Philip O’Callaghan, Managing Director, Mountpark UK and Ireland said: “We are delighted that this Variety Sunshine Coach will make such a positive contribution to Lancaster School.

“We are also very pleased to be working with Variety.  The charity has been providing its Sunshine Coaches to schools and organisations for children with complex needs for more than 55 years. In the UK and Ireland, Mountpark has donated a total of 29 Variety Sunshine Coaches and we are proud to be associated with such a worthwhile project.”
