Mountpark charity football match raises over £65,000.

24th May 2019

Following the match, Mountpark presented a Variety Sunshine Coach to Cuckmere House School, a special school for children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) from Seaford, East Sussex.  The Sunshine Coach replaces two ageing minibuses and will allow the school to take students out of the school environment.

“We have an extensive outdoor learning curriculum, which we believe is vital to developing our pupils’ strengths,” said Jo Foulkes, Director, The SABDEN Multi Academy Trust. “This vehicle will enable our staff to take pupils on a wide range of activities that will help them develop the skills necessary to engage in their education and make well-informed choices about their future.”

Walking With The Wounded helps vulnerable veterans integrate back into society and regain their independence.

“Our aim is to support people who find it difficult to adjust to life outside the military, including those who suffer mental ill-health, or are unemployed, or homeless, or at risk of entering the criminal justice system,” said Andrew Cook, Director of Fundraising, Walking With The Wounded.   “The funds raised by this evening’s event will make a great difference to our work over the coming year.”

Philip O’Callaghan, Managing Director, Mountpark UK and Ireland thanked all the event’s sponsors, QPR and everyone who had worked hard to make the evening a success.

“It is fantastic that we have raised over £65,000 for such worthwhile charities and I would like to thank you all for your support,” he said.  “Although the IAS All Stars won the trophy, the real winners today are the three charities.

“The Mountpark Charity Football Match is now an annual event and we look forward to seeing everyone again next year.”
