Improving facilities at the Carline Learning Centre.
5th février 2020The Carline Learning Centre in Co. Dublin is expanding and through our supply chain at Mountpark Baldonnell, we have helped to improve the Centre’s facilities.
The Carline Learning Centre, which provides educational, social care and mental health services for young people who have been excluded from or are no longer in mainstream education, is near our logistics development at Mountpark Baldonnell.
As part of our community programme, we started working with the Learning Centre in 2019, alongside mac-group, our main contractor at Mountpark Baldonnell. Starting with some essential repair works to the Centre itself, we then organised a site visit for students, some of whom subsequently expressed interest in construction apprenticeships.
Recently, we returned to the Centre to carry out maintenance and improvement work, funded by Mountpark and mac-group.
On the main building we replaced the gutters and downpipes, while on the ancillary building we replaced the Velux roof lights and installed security bars. We then replaced the existing tarmac and concrete hard standing between the two buildings with a new, continuous tarmac surface.
“We have all enjoyed working with the Carline Learning Centre,” said Wal Groves, European Construction Director at Mountpark. “The Centre gives young people the skills and opportunities they need and we are delighted that we have been able to help by improving the facilities.”
At Mountpark, we aim to be a good neighbour within the communities that our sites serve and we will continue to develop our community programme in line with local needs.
